Connection, permissions and tracking
Connects to afans.zone by default. Sign-in shows the selected site; sessions and personal records stay there. Auto tracking is off by default and can be enabled in current video details. Only new playback after enabling is synced, even with the panel closed. Editing episodes manually pauses auto tracking.
- Permissions
- sidePanel opens the panel; storage saves sign-in, settings and local playback records; alarms retries background sync; declarativeNetRequestWithHostAccess sets the request origin for our image CDN. Site access is used for our API and covers. Content scripts read only Bilibili anime and video pages.
- Data access and upload
- Reads limited video titles, descriptions, BV/CID, episode data, duration and playback changes. It does not read Bilibili accounts or cookies. Recognition sends limited titles and video identifiers to the selected Afans Zone site. Personal mappings require confirmation; shared mappings require a separate contribution. Playback evidence is uploaded only after auto tracking is enabled and a main episode is mapped. Earlier records remain local for up to 24 hours and are never backfilled. Authorized offline records are queued for retry.
- Third-party recognition
- Qwen recognition runs only when available and separately approved by you. You can still confirm manually if declined or unavailable. Consent is requested again after closing the panel or switching account or site.
Updates and troubleshooting
Current version0.5.0: Home, Tracking, Discover, Calendar and a global current video entry. Long episode lists reload their pages after data or records change.
To update, download the ZIP again, extract over the existing folder, reload the extension, then refresh video pages. Check that the version matches this page. Developer mode does not update automatically.
Troubleshooting and fallback site
If loading fails, check manifest.json, your browser version and organization restrictions. Before sign-in, an unavailable primary site falls back to amdsrv (requires Tailscale). Data belongs to the selected site. After sign-in, credentials and writes never move to another site. Do not broaden browser permissions to fix connection failures.
