The Garden of Sinners: Overlooking View

"Go, go, go, go—" I simply wished for this, wishing for the world beyond my window. I only wanted to be taken away by him. This is a story set at the end of summer, where girls repeatedly fall and jump to their deaths. The girls leap from the rooftops of ruined buildings toward the sky without warning or motive, then plummet down. All that awaits them is death. These girls showed no abnormalities at school, nor were they friends with one another. These unrelated events, lacking even a reason for suicide, are reported one after another as inexplicable cases. However, there is one person who sees the connection within these incidents. That person is Souren Araya, the highest-ranking puppeteer—and also a magus who never became a Magus. Perhaps... "having no reason" is their commonality, followed by the difference between floating and flying. The one investigating this series of suicides is Shiki Ryougi, who possesses the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, an ability to see the "death lines" of all things. For her, there is a reason she cannot ignore this incident— More than her unwanted ability (the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception), what concerns her is that her eyes have captured the ghosts of the girls dancing in the void. What do these ghosts truly think? Assume this is perhaps pity for companions walking the same path, or perhaps hatred toward kin. Assume this is perhaps hostility from those threatening something important. In other words, this is clear killing intent. Shiki heads to that pitiful building site, where an unknown prologue awaits her, unfolding layers upon layers of traps.
