Synopsis
Original synopsis
1990年にポニーキャニオンよりOVAとして先行制作され、発売後にテレビアニメ化されている。 1991年4月4日〜12月28日（少年アシベ）、1992年10月3日〜1993年3月27日（少年アシベ2）の2期にわたってTBS系で放送。1週に3話が放映される形式。アシベ1・全37回（計111話）、アシベ2・全25回（計75話）。なお、アシベ1の途中までは木曜19:00からのJNN全国ネット枠での放送であったが、後にローカルセールス枠に移動されて番組が打ち切りとなった地域も多かった。
