Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Flash Back 2012

The film version of "Do You Remember Love?" released in 1984 lacked an ending sequence due to various circumstances. The originally planned content was to depict Lynn Minmay performing the ending theme, "Angel's Paintbrush," during a concert. This work was produced specifically to recreate that missing footage and stands as the final related visual media for the original Super Dimension Fortress Macross series. In addition to newly animated sequences featuring "Angel's Paintbrush Part 1" from the 2012 concert and "Angel's Paintbrush Part 2," which shows the departure of the massive space colony ship Megaroad-01, the other eight musical segments are composed of edited footage from the TV and movie versions along with illustrations by Haruhiko Mikimoto. Since most of the film consists of music, the original voice actors did not record new dialogue. The newly animated portions also mark the final appearance (excluding games) of most of the main characters from the original series, providing brief updates on the fates of Lynn Minmay, Hikaru Ichijyo, and Misa Hayase.
