KEY THE METAL IDOL

One day, high school student Kimi Tokiko (KEY) suddenly receives news of the death of her grandfather, who raised her. However, she cannot cry because she is a "robot," a perfect creation made by her own hand. For this reason, she has been mocked and ridiculed by her peers since childhood. Before his death, her grandfather left KEY with a message: "Go, child. You no longer need to live as a robot; become a real person... But there is one condition. You must have friends—true friends who will cry and laugh wholeheartedly for you. You need approximately thirty thousand of them." Holding onto this nearly impossible wish, KEY heads alone to Tokyo. There, she reunites with her former middle school friend Kurakawa Sakura and meets Sanago Shuichi, the president of idol singer Miura's fan club. Together, they work toward realizing KEY's dream by developing her into an idol singer. Meanwhile, Grandfather's assistant, Wakagi Chiyoha, secretly arrives in Tokyo, hinting that unusual events are brewing around KEY. On the other hand, idol singer Miura and her agency, Minos Corporation, are not as simple as they appear. What hidden agenda does their backer, Kawazue, have? Is he connected to the death of KEY's grandfather? What secrets lie within KEY's body? Will she ultimately succeed in becoming an idol and transforming into an ordinary girl? A young woman named Ki, also known as Kimi Tokiko, believes herself to be a robot. Since moving from a mountain village to Tokyo, mysterious incidents continue to surround her. Though they may seem unrelated at first glance, all stem from the terrible fate Ki carries within her slender frame. It is said that the power of "thoughts," far surpassing that of ordinary people, has been passed down through generations of women in the Kimi family—from grandmother to mother, and then to daughter. Despite appearing to struggle just to get through each day, Ki seems to be hiding this power. In Tokyo, a place where countless "thoughts" intersect, Ki can no longer remain a "robot." Amidst swirling black ambitions, curiosity, good intentions, evil, and unchanging friendship, what will Ki grasp? Can the "robot" Ki be reborn as a human?
