Hiromichi Kojima of the Saikyo Pheasants is known as an "unlucky genius batter" because, despite his skill, he has never won a championship. Believing there must be some flaw preventing him from winning, he travels to Okinawa for private training to find it. There, he meets Toua Tokuchi, the undefeated legend of a gambling baseball game called "ONE OUTS." In their second match, Kojima ultimately wins through sheer power. Hoping for a bright future for the Lycans, he invites Tokuchi to join the team. With Tokuchi's arrival, the fate of the perennial B-class underdog team, the Saikyo Lycans, undergoes a massive transformation.
