Umineko: When They Cry

The story takes place on Rokkenjima, a small island in the Izu Islands of Japan. This ten-kilometer-long island is the private property of the wealthy Ushiromiya family. From October 4 to 5, 1986, all members of the Ushiromiya clan gather on the island for their annual family meeting. With the head of the family, Kinzo Ushiromiya, on his deathbed, his descendants scheme to seize exclusive ownership of the island during the inheritance division. In addition to the island itself, Kinzo has hidden ten tons of gold somewhere on it. What was originally a family meeting to divide the inheritance turns into a nightmare when a typhoon traps the eighteen people gathered on the island. Phones are out of service, boats cannot set sail, and the island becomes a completely sealed space. Meanwhile, mysterious serial murders begin to occur on the island! As those scheming over the treasure receive suspicious letters from a "witch," they realize that despite there supposedly being only eighteen people on the island, a nineteenth person exists? Brutal killings continue to appear, leaving behind unsolvable mysteries at the crime scenes. Who will die next, who will survive, or will everyone be killed? Is the culprit among these eighteen people, or is it the mysterious "witch"?
