[Anime Introduction] After a 50-day wait, official information regarding Shoji Kawamori's latest work, "BASQUASH!," has finally been revealed. Scheduled for broadcast on MBS in 2009, "BASQUASH!" is a mecha anime depicting the lives of boys who pilot robots known as "Big Foot" on a planet located within a certain galaxy. The production team has also been announced: The original work is by Shoji Kawamori and Thomas Romain. Thomas Romain served as assistant director, character designer, and art director for the Franco-Japanese SF anime "Oban Star-Racers," and in this work, he also handles mechanical design, while Kawamori serves as design director. The director is Shin Itagaki, who worked on "Devil May Cry." Series composition and scripts are handled by Tatsuo Sato, known for "Martian Successor Nadesico" and "Shigofumi." Additionally, Yuu Kobayashi and Yuka Ebina are responsible for scripts. Character designs are provided by Takahiro Yoshimatsu ("Cyber Formula"), Suezen ("Little Witch Academia"), and Kazuhiro Soeta ("Haou Taikei Ryuu Knight"). Animation production is handled by Satelight. With Shoji Kawamori sweeping 2008 with "Macross Frontier," fans eagerly await his latest masterpiece! [STORY] On the planet Astamus, floating in a distant galaxy deep within space, a moon hangs in the sky. The city of Mooneyes, possessing advanced technology, symbolizes the dreams and hopes of the people of Astamus. The people of Astamus dream of one day reaching the moon... In Astamus, large robots called "Big Foot" are used for various purposes and greatly assist daily life. Nowadays, people around the world are passionate about BFB, a sport competition involving piloting competitive Big Foots in arenas. Dan lives a lively life with his friends in Rolling Town, a small town on Astamus. The streets are bustling with the preliminary rounds of BFB, but Dan strongly dislikes it. His sister, Coco, cannot walk due to an accident caused by a Big Foot. During this time, Dan meets a girl who takes him on a ride in a Big Foot. The Big Foot can walk, fly, and move freely. Unconsciously, Dan begins to smile. Unable to forget the feeling of piloting the Big Foot, Dan goes to watch a match. The match begins. However, watching it on TV feels vastly different from being there in person; it seems boring and lacks impact... Dan starts to feel anxious. And then, a certain sensation related to Big Foot resurfaces within him... Thus, the legend of Dan begins!
