Kumeta Koji's manga series "Zan: Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei," which began serialization in Kodansha's "Weekly Shonen Magazine" in 2005, is characterized by its heavy use of satire targeting Japanese social phenomena and self-deprecation. Drawing on the author's own knowledge base, it employs original or specific vocabulary to reference related events and create comedic moments. The work was previously adapted into TV anime by SHAFT, with "Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei" airing in July 2007 and "Zoku Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei" in January 2008, followed by the two-part OADs "Goku Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei" released in October 2008 and February 2009. Perhaps due to the strong sales of the OADs, we quickly welcomed the fourth animation adaptation of the series, titled "Zan: Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei." The staff and cast will continue with the lineup from the second season. This summer, let us once again enjoy the unconventional direction of genius director Shinbo Akiyuki!
