Just as summer vacation begins, Mirai, a first-year middle school student, accompanies her younger brother Yuuki to visit a robot exhibition. Scowling at her excited brother, Mirai, in the midst of her rebellious phase, boredly taps on her phone. "Every single day is full of annoying things... I wish this world would just break down." The moment she thinks that, the ground suddenly begins to shake violently. Striking Tokyo is a massive trench-type earthquake with a magnitude of 8.0. Crumbling seaside bridges and the collapsing Tokyo Tower. In an instant, everything has changed in Tokyo. Mirai holds Yuuki's hand and, with the help of Mari, a motorcycle courier, heads toward their home in Setagaya. Will the three of them be able to make it home safely?
