Steamboy

"Steamboy" is an animated film directed by Japanese manga artist and anime director Katsuhiro Otomo. It was his second major work following "Akira," released in Japan in July 2004. With a production budget of 2.4 billion yen, it is one of the most expensive anime films ever made in Japan. The film was selected as a recommended work in the animation division of the 8th Japan Media Arts Festival organized by the Agency for Cultural Affairs in 2004. The story is set in Manchester, an industrial city in mid-19th-century Britain. At that time, Britain was actively promoting the Industrial Revolution, and London was particularly bustling due to hosting the first World's Fair. One day, Ray receives a mysterious "steam ball" sent by his grandfather, and immediately afterward, a group of enigmatic men arrives at Ray's home. To protect this steam ball entrusted to him by his grandfather, Ray contends against these men and the organization behind them, O'Hara Foundation, sparking a thrilling battle for possession. Eventually, Ray discovers that the steam ball possesses enough energy to change history and learns the true purpose behind the O'Hara Foundation's desperate desire to obtain it. For the sake of science and humanity's future, Ray becomes the "Steam Boy" and soars vigorously into the sky!
