Cardcaptor Sakura: The Sealed Card

The Sealed Card is the second theatrical film in the Cardcaptor Sakura series (also known as Card Captor Sakura). The first film, which had no official title, is commonly referred to as "Hong Kong Trip." The Sealed Card follows directly after episode 70 of the TV series and serves as the grand finale of the entire story (though a third film was released simultaneously, it is unrelated to the main narrative). The story begins four months after Syaoran Li returns to Hong Kong (coinciding with summer break), when Tomoeda Elementary School is preparing for the "Fujitaka Flower Festival." Sakura is playing the princess role in the school play. One day, after returning from rehearsal, Sakura discovers that Eriol's house has been demolished to make way for an amusement park, but she encounters strange occurrences. She senses the presence of Clow Cards, which should have all been collected, and this sensation leads her to run into Syaoran, who has arrived in Japan along with Meiling at Tomoyo's invitation. Before leaving, Syaoran had confessed his feelings to Sakura, but she never responded. Sakura prepares to reveal her own heart, but keeps getting interrupted. Meanwhile, bizarre events continue to unfold, with mailboxes and bridges disappearing. When Sakura, Tomoyo, Syaoran, and Meiling visit the amusement park, Sakura and Syaoran once again sense the Clow Cards. They chase into a mirror maze and see a girl (a Clow Card). Sakura attacks, but it is completely ineffective; instead, the card she previously used is taken by the entity, causing both to vanish. Sakura returns home, where Eriol calls to tell her that this is the final Clow Card, "The Nothing," which causes everything to disappear. The only way to capture it is to exchange one's most precious emotions. Since Yamazaki, who plays the prince, is injured, Syaoran takes over the role. As the performance reaches its climax, "The Nothing" appears and steals 42 of Sakura's cards. Instantly, people on the street collectively vanish. Tomoyo, Meiling, Kero, and Yue also disappear one by one during the subsequent battle. Because "The Nothing" specifically counters the other 52 Clow Cards, neither Sakura, Kero, nor Yue can harm her. Only Syaoran's magic works against her, but due to a vast difference in power, he still loses the fight. Thinking Syaoran has disappeared (he should have vanished, but suddenly reappears later, remaining a mystery), Sakura angrily chases "The Nothing," but even her last card is stolen. Sakura understands "The Nothing's" loneliness and moves her with genuine emotion, finally capturing her. However, "The Nothing" takes away Syaoran's emotions as the exchange. At this point, Sakura loudly confesses her love, but it is already too late. A miracle occurs. The "Love" card created by Sakura responds to the resonance and merges with "The Nothing" to become the "Hope" card. Syaoran's emotions are restored, and everyone comes back. Overjoyed, Sakura jumps up and embraces Syaoran.
