Two years after a large-scale terrorist incident in Shibuya, the girl Canaan accepts requests to combat criminal organizations in Shanghai, enduring days of confrontation with the armed group "Serpent." The leader of the criminal organization "Serpent," Alfard, was once a partner who fought alongside Canaan; after they parted ways, he had been lying low in South Asia. Meanwhile, freelance writer Mikasa and his assistant photographer Maria travel to Shanghai for research purposes while working for the third-rate publishing company "Heaven Publishing." Maria senses that Canaan, the girl she met in the Middle East, is nearby. In "Magic City" Shanghai, where prosperity and chaos intertwine, people are cast under the shadow of the virus that once shook Shibuya, and their fates begin to intersect once again.
