The Cube Tower

While playing with a Rubik's cube, Lai Ke finds that the cube suddenly grows in size. Curious, he enters the world inside the cube. It turns out that the Cube Tower is composed of twenty-six "Cube Countries," including countries such as Parents-in-Cans, Glass Country, Train Country, and the Constellation Oil Tanker, among many other fascinating places. Lai Ke begins a series of magical adventures in these countries. Episodes 1 ("Glass City"), 2 ("Parents in Cans"), and 3 ("The Magical Calendar") won second prize at the 2nd China Film and Television Animation Exhibition. Episode 8 ("Helmet City") received the Outstanding Film Award from the Ministry of Radio, Film and Television in 1993 and was nominated for the 14th Golden Rooster Award for Chinese Cinema. "The Cube Tower" was originally planned to have 26 episodes, but due to a loss of professional talent and lack of funding, production stopped after 10 episodes.
