Gakuen Alice

Tokyo's Gakuen Alice (officially: National Alice Research Institute Academy Headquarters) is a special school that only admits individuals possessing supernatural abilities known as "Alice." Her childhood friend and playmate, Hotaru Imai, who was like a sister to her, transferred from their rural elementary school to an urban one without saying goodbye. Sakura Mikan could not accept this fact and ran away from home, arriving alone at Gakuen Alice where Hotaru now attended. However, she discovered she could not enter the academy. While wandering outside the walls, she nearly got kidnapped by human traffickers but was fortunately rescued by Mr. Narumi, a teacher at the academy, who suspected Mikan might possess an Alice ability. Since she had arrived, Mikan resolved to make the best of it. Despite being ostracized by classmates, rated as having no star rank, unsure of what her own Alice was, and unable to see her beloved grandfather, the stubborn Mikan refused to give up. Originally coming to Gakuen Alice just to follow Hotaru's footsteps, Mikan eventually found happiness, courage, trust, and friendship there...
