Stellvia of the Universe

In the year 2176, a star near the solar system named Toru suddenly exploded. The immense energy filled nearby space with massive amounts of electromagnetic waves. The solar system was also affected; severe electromagnetic radiation drastically changed Earth's natural environment, making it no longer suitable for human survival. Consequently, humanity began an enormous migration project. One hundred and eighty years later, in the year 2356, humans have established vast space bases on planets such as Earth, Mars, Saturn, and Jupiter. To facilitate effective communication between these bases, numerous space stations were built throughout the planets. One of these stations houses the "Star Road" Academy, a space university dedicated to training young astronauts capable of completing special missions. The protagonist, Shima Katase, is a student at this academy. Upon entering the school, Shima, like her fellow students, struggles to adapt to the new academic life. However, friendships among peers help everyone greatly, and their lives gradually settle into a routine. Shima meets a boy named Kouta Otoyama, and the two quickly become close friends. A budding romance slowly develops between them. Their peaceful days do not last long, as the students begin rigorous training and are tasked with critical missions that concern the fate of Earth. Can Shima and her classmates withstand such trials?
