Fly higher! Run faster! The story centers on "Part Battles," competitions between AT teams formed by numerous Storm Riders who freely traverse the night sky using their Air Shoes. The protagonist, Ikki, leads his team, Little Doremi, into these battles, striving to become the legendary "King of the Sky" who stands atop it all. (Part Battles are the "game" that Storm Riders aspire to. It is a "formal duel" conducted between Storm Riders under specific "rules" and in designated "arenas." It is also a duel where riders bet parts against parts, or parts against clan emblems!!) Part Battle ranks ascend from low to high: F, E, D, C, B, A, S. Participating teams must meet requirements regarding five battle arenas and time, then choose the battle format. Finally, they stake their life-or-death clan emblems. And then... FIRE~~~! The four "8s" of Part Battles are: eight roads, eight kings, eight clan emblems, and eight jade seals (special parts symbolizing the King's power, unique in the world). Only when a challenger has traversed all the roads, passed through countless trials of blood, and met all these conditions will the legendary "King of the Sky" descend upon the pinnacle of kingship.

飞得更高！ 跑得更快！ 以暴风族的名义自由得穿梭在夜空中的空中轮鞋！故事的中心内容要讲述的就是众多的暴风族组成的ＡＴ队伍之间的“零件战”比赛。故事的主角阿树，带领着自己的队伍“小乌丸”走向了比赛。为了要成为传说中鼎立于天空的“空之王”而努力着。（零件战，ＡＴ暴风族们所向往的“游戏”。是在特定的“规则”和“战场”下由暴风族之间所进行的一种“正式的决斗”，同时也是暴风族之间用零件和零件或用零件和族章作为赌注的决斗！！）零件战等级由低到高：ＦＥＤＣＢＡS。参赛队伍必须满足有５个比赛场地和时间，接着选择比赛的方式。最后拿出定存亡的族章。最后就。ＦＩＲＥ~~~！而零件战的四个“８”：八条道，八个王，八个族章，八个玉玺（象征王的力量的特殊零件，世界上独一无二）。只有当挑战者踩过所有的道，通过无数的血之考验，当这所有条件都齐全时，传说中的“空之王”就会降临到王者的顶端。
