The story of "Penguin Girl" takes place at the private North Pole Academy. A 14-year-old otaku girl, nicknamed "Penguin" (referred to as "Girl A" in the original work, where A stands for AKIBA, or Akihabara), transfers there. She is also the wealthy heiress of the South Pole Group and later becomes student council president. Her worldview revolves entirely around anime, and cosplay is a daily routine for her. Her special ability allows her to manifest the powers of whatever character she is cosplaying as. The characters are mostly named after polar animals (such as penguins and whales), and the series features various hilarious stories centered on the otaku girl and her school friends.
