Reina Iwakura's classmate, Chisato Yomoda, committed suicide. The unexpected death left the students in shock, but a week later, Reina received a text message from Chisato. Despite being dead, Chisato began communicating with Reina via mobile messages. At home, Reina used the computer her father had given her to contact Chisato. When asked why she had taken her own life, Chisato replied, "Because I no longer need a body. Without one, I can continue to exist within the Wired network." Confused, Reina continued investigating Chisato's case and discovered a massive secret hidden within the Wired network, as well as mysteries surrounding her own origins. As Reina faced the truth of the digital world, Chisato's words echoed in her mind: "I live in the Wired because God is there."
