Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story

One day after the establishment of the Meiji government, in a small village, Kenshin meets a beautiful young girl named Kaoru Kamiya. During their conversation, they learn that a man named Gobei Hiryuma is impersonating Battousai and terrorizing the village. Kaoru fights him with a bamboo sword but is no match for him. As Gobei raises his blade to strike, on the verge of taking her life, a figure flashes by like lightning. Gobei’s slash misses, and Kaoru finds herself in the arms of a handsome red-haired "youth". Kaoru discovers that her savior is a swordsman wielding a reverse-blade sword who claims to be the legendary assassin, Battousai. She wants to know why he has stopped killing people and wishes to learn about his past. She hopes that Kenshin will end his wandering life, settle down at her dojo, and use his sword to fulfill his wish of protecting those who suffer. Kaoru shares her background with Kenshin. Her father was the founder of the Kamiya Kasshin-ryu school, which always adhered to the principle of using the sword to give life and save the world. Despite his exceptional swordsmanship, he never used a real blade, dedicating himself to helping the weak against the strong. Although her father, Eijiro Kamiya, died in battle during the Satsuma Rebellion, leaving her without any disciples, she did not lose heart. She resolved to support the dojo alone and carry forward her father's spirit of saving lives through the sword to protect the weak. Deeply moved by Kaoru's indomitable spirit and feeling that her ideals aligned closely with his own, Kenshin decides to stay. From then on, Kenshin opens his true emotional world to only one person: Kaoru Kamiya. He lives a peaceful life at the dojo. Soon, he meets and saves several friends destined to be important in his life. One is Yahiko Myojin, whose father was a member of the Shogitai who died in the Battle of Ueno. After his mother's death left behind massive debts, creditors demanded repayment from Yahiko. Unable to pay, he resorted to theft until Kenshin rescued him and defeated the thugs. Yahiko resolves to become an outstanding person like his father and joins the Kamiya dojo to learn swordsmanship, though he and his master Kaoru often bicker. Another is Sanosuke Sagara, formerly a member of the Akabane-tai (Red Brigade). The Meiji government declared the brigade illegal under charges of impersonating official military forces and disbanded it. The brigade fought desperately, leaving only Sanosuke and a child, Yumi Komagata, alive. Captain Arai led Sanosuke to a cliff edge before charging back to engage the government's rifle squad in hand-to-hand combat, sacrificing himself so Sanosuke could escape amidst the chaos. Haunted by this tragedy, Sanosuke harbored a deep hatred for the Meiji government but, lacking strength, vented his frustration by picking fights, becoming a notorious local thug. After being defeated by Kenshin and enlightened about the greater good, he finally understood that Captain Arai had fought and died for national liberation and people's happiness, and that his spirit would not want to see him degenerate. Thus, alongside Kenshin, he vows to fight against those who disrupt peace and chooses the path of righteousness. There is also a woman named Megumi Takani, whose appearance once sparked jealousy in Kaoru. She fled after refusing to be forced by her masters to manufacture opium, eventually finding protection with Kenshin... and later becoming a renowned doctor. With friends come enemies. Seta Sojiro, former leader of the Shogunate's spy organization, achieved prominence at a young age, but ultimately, the organization, acting against the tide of history, collapsed. Consequently, Sojiro developed a bitter hatred for the Restoration movement, especially its representative, Kenshin. Moreover, becoming the strongest was Sojiro's lifelong dream, and at that time, achieving this title meant defeating Battousai. There is also Jin-e, a cold-blooded assassin from the former Shinsengumi. Even though the era requiring executioners has passed, his brutal nature remains unchanged. He kidnaps Kaoru and challenges Kenshin solely to satisfy his desire for combat and killing; naturally, such a person meets a bad end. However, the most terrifying enemies are contemporaries of Kenshin: the executioner Shishio Makoto and Enishi Yukishiro, a fellow practitioner of the Hiten Mitsurugi-ryu...
