Mirage of Blaze

Uesugi Kagekatsu, originally named Hojo Ujihide, was the seventh son of Hojo Ujimasa. After an alliance between the Hojo and Uesugi clans, he was sent to the Uesugi family as the adopted son of Uesugi Kenshin and renamed Uesugi Kagekatsu. In 1578, upon Kenshin's death, a war for succession erupted between Kagekatsu and another adopted son, Uesugi Kageshige, known historically as the "Otate-no-ran." Although Kagekatsu initially held the advantage, the situation reversed drastically, leading him to commit suicide by burning himself alive. The protagonist of this story, Aoki Takaya, is the reincarnation of Uesugi Kagekatsu, though he has no memory of his past life. His perception of reality changes when Naoe Nobutsuna, a former retainer of the Uesugi clan, appears. People who lived in the same era as Uesugi Kagekatsu begin to gather around Takaya, and strange events continue to occur. Takeda Shingen possesses Takaya's friend, Narita Yuzuru. Despite Naoe's attempt to seal the spirit with a bracelet, it fails. To save Yuzuru, Takaya goes to Matsumoto Castle, where skeletal samurai under Takeda Shingen's command surround him. With Naoe's help, they defeat the skeletons and rescue Yuzuru, but their troubles are only just beginning...
