Fafner in the Azure

Kazuki Makabe lives on Ryugu Island, where every day is calm and peaceful. His tranquil life with his childhood friends, Soushi Minashiro and Maya Togo, is suddenly shattered. The peace the boys took for granted was actually a false illusion; their serene existence on the island was nothing more than a cleverly fabricated facade. When invading enemies stripped away this thin veil of deception, the boys piloted giant robots to protect their irreplaceable friends, family, and the island they held dear. The dragon, which had forgotten its heart while guarding its treasure, bares its fangs once again. Peace, family, companionship— The boys and girls fight ceaselessly for these precious things. As long as they can survive on Ryugu Island, that is happiness. Even if it is a false paradise or a constructed reality, it cannot erase the precious memories of those who lived there. They strive onward until the day Ryugu Island is restored into a true paradise. This is their story, filled with both sorrow and joy.
