Winter Sonata

To find his biological father, Kang Joon-sang transfers to Chuncheon High School, where his parents once studied, and begins a pure romance with his classmate Yoo Jin. During his search for his birth father, he discovers that Yoo Jin is likely his half-sister by blood. This relationship abruptly ends when he decides to follow his mother's wishes to study in the United States. Later, he loses his memory in a car accident. To prevent him from recovering his true identity, his mother sends him to the US for medical treatment and then to France for further studies, renaming him Lee Min-hyung before his memory returns. Ten years later, Lee Min-hyung returns to Korea after completing his studies in France, becoming a renowned architect. At this time, Yoo Jin is also working in the architecture industry, and the two reunite. Due to his amnesia, Min-hyung treats Jin as a stranger. Jin cannot forget their past love; on the night of her engagement, she sees Kang Joon-sang—who she believed had died—on the street and becomes distracted. Her considerate fiancé, Kim Sang-hyuk, does not blame her but instead cares for and protects her even more. Later, Jin and Min-hyung work together, and through their developing relationship, Min-hyung gradually recovers his true identity and memories of his father. Ultimately, while saving Jin, he is hit by a truck, resulting in a severe injury that causes him to slowly lose his sight. The two finally overcome all obstacles and spend their lives together.
