The I"s Pure OVA series, consisting of 6 episodes, began publication on December 9, 2005. The animation starts with Ichitaka's date with Iori on Christmas and recounts his pursuit of her during middle school in a flashback narrative. Unlike the manga, psychological descriptions and explicit erotic scenes are omitted or simplified, and the protagonist's sexual fantasies are depicted separately from the main plot through "Ichitaka's Delusion Diary."
