School Rumble

Tsukamoto Tenma is a second-year high school student. Like many girls, she is in love. However, she has never been able to confess her feelings to the person she likes most—her classmate, Karasuma Ooji. Unluckily, Tenma suddenly learns that Ooji will be transferring away in one year! Despite this, she receives help from her younger sister Yakumo and her friends. To confess, she engages in a series of nonsensical antics, such as disguising herself as a nurse and trying to send an arrow letter. The other protagonist is Harima Kenji, a second-year high school student who is hopelessly in love with Tenma. He is a delinquent who, despite his deep affection for Tenma, shares her inability to convey his feelings to the one he loves, spending his days in dejection. When Harima accidentally witnesses Tenma having lunch with Ooji, he is devastated, refuses to go to school thereafter, and begins a wandering journey. Several second-year high school students trapped by love strive tirelessly to fulfill their romantic ideals. Yet, these two rack their brains and employ every method they can think of, dragging many innocent bystanders into their schemes and prompting their friends around them to intervene out of exasperation... Unfortunately, neither has successfully confessed to their crushes. Thus, set against the backdrop of their school, a group of seemingly ordinary characters erupts into a chaotic brawl-like rampage amidst subtle romances.
