Calabash Brothers

The Scorpion Spirit and the Golden Snake Spirit are imprisoned inside Calabash Mountain. A pangolin breaks open the cave, allowing the demons to escape so they can wreak havoc and act with impunity. An old man learns that only planting seven-colored magic gourds can destroy the demons. He obtains gourd seeds and grows seven large gourds in red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, and purple. When the seven gourds mature, they transform into seven little boys possessing various superhuman abilities. After enduring many twists and hardships in battle, they finally defeat the utterly wicked demons. Since its broadcast in 1986, "Calabash Brothers" has been widely loved by audiences, especially children, and is one of the representative works of the second period of prosperity in Chinese animation.
