"H2O -FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND-", also known as "H2O: Red Sand Imprints," is a PC bishoujo game developed by the Japanese adult game company Makura, which was later adapted into a PlayStation 2 game, manga, and television anime. It was Makura's first work. According to the introduction at the end of the first episode of the anime, the "H2O" in the title comes from the first letters of the three heroines' names (Hayami, Hinata, Otoha), while "Footprints" refers to the poem "Footprints in the Sand," the first part of which appears at the beginning of the first episode.

《H2O -FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND-》或《H2O 赤砂的印记》，是日本十八禁游戏制作公司枕（Makura）开发的PC美少女游戏，以及此发展出来的PlayStation 2游戏、漫画、电视动画。枕的第一部作品。 由动画第一话末尾的介绍，标题的H2O是来自三个女主角名字的第一个字母（Hayami, Hinata, Otoha）， 而Footprints来自一首诗《Footprints in the Sand》，此诗的前半部分也在动画第一话的开头出现。
