Fooly Cooly

In a near-future Japan, in a city called Sosuke, the citizens lead ordinary lives. However, on a hillside at the edge of town stands a factory built by a medical machinery manufacturer, shaped strikingly like an iron, which emits large amounts of steam every day at a fixed time, as if it has just finished ironing something. Naota, a sixth-grade elementary school student, is spending time by the river with Mamimi, a high school girl who is his older brother's girlfriend, currently studying abroad. This seemingly ordinary daily routine comes to an abrupt end when Naota is struck by a streetcar driven by Haruko, the legendary "Bee Girl." A strange horn suddenly sprouts from Naota's head! Moreover, Haruko enters Naota's home as a servant. Her secrets and the meaning behind the phrase "FLCL" that she constantly utters turn Naota's life upside down.
