Nyoron Churuya-san

The four-panel parody manga "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya-chan," derived from the original light novels of the super-popular anime series "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya," announced its adaptation into a web anime in August 2008. This manga features scripts by Nagaru Tanigawa, the original author of "Haruhi," and began serialization in 2007. The first tankobon volume was released in May 2008. At the time of the volume's release, fans had nowhere to channel their enthusiasm because the second season of the "Haruhi" anime had been delayed for over a year since its announcement, and the tenth volume of the original novel series, "The Surprise of Haruhi Suzumiya," had also been postponed for more than a year. Consequently, demand for the "Haruhi-chan" manga surged; the first volume sold out immediately upon release, and even multiple emergency reprints failed to meet the high demand. The upcoming anime adaptation of "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya-chan" will be broadcast on Kadokawa Anime Channel on YouTube. Simultaneously, the manga "Nyoron☆Churuya-san," a spin-off featuring Tsuruya as the protagonist (where "Nyoron" is her verbal tic), will also be adapted into a web anime and aired on the same channel.
