Comic Party Revolution

"Comic Party Revolution" was released as the first volume on December 22, 2003, as an OVA sold exclusively through Aquaplus mail order. It consists of four volumes in total. In addition to Aquaplus mail order, it was also available for purchase at events featuring Aquaplus exhibits, such as corporate booths at Comiket. The title is commonly abbreviated as "Revolution" or "Komipa R." For character design, Kenichiro Katsura was employed, who is widely known not only for general anime such as "Idol Defense Team Hummingbird" and "Macross 7," but also for adult works like "VIPER" and "Super Angel Escalayer." As a result, the appearance of every character remained quite faithful to the atmosphere of the original source material. Furthermore, Chaos Project, which handled the animation production, began frequently participating in the production of animation parts for Aquaplus products and anime adaptations from this work onward [3]. In terms of content, while each episode focuses heavily on one or two heroines, it also includes elements of gag comedy and fan service (such as bath scenes). However, it follows a self-contained format with no consideration given to narrative continuity or consistency between episodes. Additionally, the basic settings for each character were reverted to match those of the original source material. From April to June 2005, it was broadcast as a 13-episode TV anime within the "Anime Tamashii" slot. Episodes 1 through 4 were re-edited versions of the aforementioned four OVA volumes (shortened by less than five minutes from the OVA version, resulting in the removal of some parts of the main story such as the opening segments, punchlines after the end credits, and Minami Makimura's shower scene in Episode 4; furthermore, the background animations during the end credits were completely different). Episodes 5 through 13 were newly produced specifically for television broadcast. Note that while the opening animation throughout all episodes reused the OVA version created by Chaos Project, the ending animation was a newly produced version by RADIX (with key animation handled by Norikazu Nakano). Additionally, similar to how characters from "To Heart" appeared in the opening segment of Episode 1 of the KSS version, Konomi Yuzuhara from "ToHeart2" appears in Episode 5 of this work (voiced by Yuurika Ochiai, the same voice actress as in the original), though this occurrence is not part of a dream sequence but rather due to Kazuki's cosplay. It was also one of the titles distributed during the early launch period of GyaO.
