Sky Girls

In 2071, a collective of nanomachine-based entities appeared worldwide. The world collectively referred to them as "Weapons Of Raid Machine" (W.O.R.M.). The emergence of the W.O.R.M.s marked the beginning of a series of devastating attacks on humanity, systematically destroying oil refineries, power plants, and military bases. By 2073, approximately one-third of the global population had been lost, forcing governments around the world to form the United Human Army to counterattack the W.O.R.M.s. In 2074, driven by desperation, humanity used large-scale destructive weapons against the W.O.R.M.s, ultimately annihilating them but at an enormous cost. Major continents split apart, Antarctica disappeared, fifty percent of the Earth's surface was submerged in water, and over ninety percent of males aged twenty to thirty vanished. In 2084, two girls conscripted into the army and one girl pursuing her own agenda gather at the Aizubase Air Base, embarking on a dream journey soaring through the skies.
