Sky Girls OVA

In the year 2079, a mysterious swarm of mechanical cells suddenly launched a world-scale extermination campaign against humanity. After two years of prolonged resistance, humanity, facing defeat, deployed its ultimate weapon of destruction. To annihilate the enemy, they were willing to sacrifice vast portions of their own nations' territories. As a result, the major continents were split into several fragments, Antarctica disappeared, and over 50% of Earth's land was submerged by seawater. Three years passed... News arrived that the enemy, believed to have been completely eradicated, had suddenly returned... To verify this information, the secret aviation cruiser "Kouryu" departed covertly from Japan. The "Kouryu" is a fighter aircraft incorporating all of Japan's most advanced design concepts, equipped with sonic accelerators, comprising three units: "Reishin," "Fushin," and "Raishin." Piloting these sonic accelerators are three young girls: Otowa Sakurano, Karen Sonomiya, and Eika Ichijo. These three are the pilots known as SKY GIRLS. Humanity's future and hope... everything lies in their hands... The time has come to take flight!
