Natsume's Book of Friends

Natsume Reiko, a woman ostracized by humans for her ability to see youkai, challenged them to pass the time and recorded the names of those she defeated on a contract, using it as proof that they were her subordinates. Her grandson, Natsume Takashi, inherited this "Book of Friends" made from those contracts, along with Reiko's power to see things invisible to others. Like his grandmother, he too became isolated from those around him. However, as the sole heir of Reiko's bloodline, he made an important decision: to return the names of the youkai Reiko had taken, one by one. Various youkai began to gather around Natsume... Accompanied by Madara, a youkai in the form of a lucky cat, Natsume Takashi, a boy who can see youkai, tells stories of strange, sorrowful, nostalgic, and moving tales.
