It started as a very simple story. Shuichi Shindou, aiming to form his own rock band and become a professional artist, seemed always confident in his creative talent and beautiful voice. However, on a strange night with beautiful moonlight, he met his fated lover, the novelist Eiri Yukihara... Eiri, equally conceited, looked down upon Shuichi's lyrics with an expression of disdain that we can easily imagine. The cool Eiri and the innocent Shuichi—yes, the beginning of the story is just as one might expect; despite feeling reluctant, Shuichi truly fell in love with Eiri at first sight. After developing this inexplicable romance with Yukihara, Shuichi was noticed by Touma Seguchi, the president of the famous record company NG and Eiri's brother-in-law, who has an extremely strong protective instinct towards Eiri. Touma began nurturing the band Bad Luck, formed by Shuichi and his partner Koji, and under his careful planning, Shuichi's band quickly shone brightly. (Although part of this shine came from fans being surprised by the romance between a popular novelist and a popular singer...) Anyway, when Bad Luck's album sales broke through one million copies, Shuichi happily accepted Eiri's blessing: a day date with Eiri at Disney. On the way to the date, Eiri told Shuichi about his tragic past (this seems a bit cliché, as it appears every manga protagonist must have a tragic backstory), and revealed that he still suffers from aftereffects of that time: mild schizophrenia. After saying all this, he broke up with the pitiful and bewildered Shuichi for no apparent reason. The story shifts from here. Perhaps Murakami was not good at or did not want to handle depressing plotlines, so starting from episode eight, after Eiri and Shuichi break up, the pure BL story (pure?) begins to develop into a somewhat nonsensical comedy. The lonely Shuichi is suddenly targeted by XMR, a world-famous production company based in America. To get him, the company goes so far as to use military force to kidnap him to the US. Lissy, the eccentric top producer of XMR, not only forces Shuichi to develop his career in America (Lissy and her subordinates have not only guns but also military helicopters and rocket launchers...), but eventually falls madly and perversely in love with Shuichi (sorry, I can only think of this word...). At this time, Eiri also comes to America to search for Shuichi. Gunfights, kidnappings, mid-air chases (is this really a BL manga?)... For the future of Shuichi and Eiri, a new war unfolds vigorously.
