Shuichi Shindou has long dreamed of forming a band with his best friend, Kouji Nakano. Shuichi serves as the lead vocalist and handles both lyrics and composition, while Kouji plays the guitar. One evening, after finishing work, Shuichi encounters the person who becomes indispensable to his life on his way home: Eiri Yuki. Before Shuichi can even comprehend what is happening, Yuki criticizes him for having absolutely no talent for writing lyrics, thus introducing Yuki into his life. Perhaps out of defiance against Yuki's criticism, Shuichi only wants to meet Yuki again. He boldly steps in front of Yuki's car to stop it, thereby initiating an inseparable relationship between the two. Although Yuki initially refuses to admit that he actually likes Shuichi, Shuichi's unpretentious and genuine personality gradually changes Yuki's originally arrogant and cold demeanor.
