The story opens with a shipwreck in the North Atlantic fifteen years ago, caused by a cargo ship sailing through dense fog at night. Failing to spot a massive iceberg in time, the vessel suffered a violent collision that critically damaged its engine room, leading to its complete sinking shortly after. Although most of the crew were rescued, the captain and one sailor unfortunately lost their lives.
Fifteen years later in metropolitan Tokyo, a renowned designer from a major conglomerate suddenly suffers a heart attack while driving. His car plunges into a valley and catches fire upon impact, killing him instantly. These two accidents, occurring in different eras, are entirely unexpected, yet they turn out to be the prologue to a grand conspiracy.
The mastermind behind it chose the luxury cruise ship "Aphrodite" as the stage for his plot. Coincidentally, Conan, Ran, Kogoro, and others are attending the maiden voyage ceremony of this ship. As a result, Ran finds herself in grave danger, making for an extremely thrilling storyline.
