Macross 7: The Galaxy Is Calling Me!

During the Battle of Barota, while conducting a SOUND FORCE experiment aboard the Macross 7, Basara detects an unusual song emanating from nearby plants and flowers, sparking his curiosity. He then sets off alone in his VF-19P toward the border planet where this strange singing originates. Arriving at a remote mountain village on the border planet, Basara learns from the villagers about a creature referred to as the "Cursed Monster," which is the source of the mysterious sound. There, he also meets Pedro, a young boy who has lost his father. Basara decides to find the source of the voice and heads into the mountains with Pedro. He discovers that the singing belongs to Emilya, a female Zentradi. The two engage in a vocal battle amidst the snow and ice, during which they become acquainted. Emilya develops admiration for Basara after losing the singing contest to him. The phenomenon known as the "SPIRITA Anomaly" also attracts the attention of the Protodeviln. However, Basara and Emilya ultimately work together, using their songs to drive the enemy away once more. Milene and the others catch up to Basara at the location, only to discover that Emilya is actually the fifth daughter of the Maxis family and Milene's older sister. Eventually, Basara bids farewell to Emilya and returns to the Macross 7 fleet (it is truly a pity that no romance blossomed between them).
