WHITE ALBUM, an 18+ PC visual novel released by Leaf in 1998, was considered a masterpiece for its time due to its compelling plot, music, and character development. Although proposals for an anime adaptation had existed for years, it was recently officially greenlit for production, with broadcast scheduled for January 2009. A PS3 port is also currently in active development; the TV series will feature a different story from the PS3 version, offering a narrative that can only be perfectly realized through the anime format. The fundamental character settings and the theme of a romance set within the entertainment industry remain unchanged. Popular voice actors Aya Hirano and Nana Mizuki are cast as the two heroines, Yuki Morikawa and Rina Ogata, respectively. This announcement reveals the character designs for these two heroines. The story is set in 1986, during Japan's bubble economy era. Fuyutoi Toya, a young man born in this period, lives a mundane university life while dating idol star Yuki Morikawa. Despite balancing work and studies, the couple believed their feelings were mutually confirmed. However, as Yuki's popularity grew, the distance between them widened. Consequently, Toya met Rina Ogata, another popular star belonging to the same talent agency as Yuki. What kind of impact will this encounter have on him?
