A Certain Magical Index

Kamijou Touma is confronted with an impossible sight: a girl hanging from his balcony railing like a bedsheet. Although this city, Academy City, represents the pinnacle of scientific advancement where esper abilities can be created through technology, Touma is still startled by the girl who introduces herself as Index. She claims to possess 103,000 magical grimoires and is being pursued by magicians, and Touma's own ability confirms that her magic is real. Index leaves Touma's home citing danger, and he goes to school as usual, only to return and find her lying in a pool of blood. Thus begins the story of Kamijou Touma and Index in a world where science and magic intersect.
