X

The Kamui, a title representing the authority of the gods, embodies the contradictory desires to either protect or destroy the world. After his mother's death, Kamui returns to Tokyo after six years. As the apocalypse approaches, the Seven Dragons of Heaven and the Seven Dragons of Earth gather in Tokyo, preparing for a final war that will determine the fate of the Earth. When Princess Yuzuriha prophesies that the bird will be killed by Kamui of the Dragons of Earth, Shirou Kamui chooses to become a Dragon of Heaven to protect the world. However, Fuma unexpectedly embraces Kamui's other desire, becoming the Kamui of the Dragons of Earth instead. Since their debut, CLAMP has deliberately cultivated a "CLAMP Universe," linking all their works together and leaving various "mysteries" intended to be revealed in X. Characters from other CLAMP series appear in X, including Imonoyama Nozomi, Ishijuin Rei, and Takamura Suoh from Clamp School Detectives, as well as Subaru Sumeragi, Hokuto Sumeragi, and Seishiro Sakurazuka from Tokyo Babylon.
